My Experience In…

FFIPP Turin

PIETRO - FFIPP TURIN, 2019- 2020

Hi, I’m Pietro and I was FFIPP Torino’s Vice President from 2019 to 2020. Currently, I am still involved in organising and managing the chapter, since 2020 - as we know - needed resilience and adaptability to redefine the structure of our work of local sensibilization (through events and other various initiatives, …).

Together with Eleonora and Lisa, I launched FFIPP Torino’s events for the first time in September 2019. For the event, we wanted to show how humanitarian and universal values were placed at the heart of our project. We invited a Palestinian girl sharing witnessing to local of her daily life in a Refugee Camp in front of a social context - as Torino’s - were the Israeli-Palestinian question is still an unknown and too often neglected matter. That’s why I'm firmly convinced how FFIPP local chapters - in Italy and all over Europe - vocation is important.

The issue is hard and challenging: spreading awareness of ongoing violation of human rights from an external and an apolitical point of view might sound inconceivable and naive. But in order to take the risk to make sustainable and strong political choices, it is necessary to start from the most universal one: human rights. FFIPP offers education - rather than imposed instructions.

Lastly, FFIPP Europe gave me the possibility to act proactively as a solidarity tourist and as a citizen engaged in human rights and world social issues. I tried to provide FFIPP Torino with my creativity and my artistic and journalistic values, spreading the values of FFIPP in different domains of civil society.
