Join us in York for this Teach Out held in honour of striking university staff in the UK and people fighting colonial oppression everywhere.
The struggles of the Sahrawi, Palestinian and Kurdish people against the colonial war machines of Morocco, Israel and Turkey are historically intertwined. These similar, yet distinct, battles for the right to exist have since come to be represented in the mainstream as separate issues. This Teach Out aims to challenge these assumptions. It will bring together narratives about resistance and oppression from three movements to explore what can be learnt from their connections and what solidarity means for all of us fighting colonial oppression today.
Speakers are three graduate students/activists at the University of York. The event will consist of a presentation from each speaker and then the floor will be open for questions/debate.
