Hi! I’m Martina, a Spanish ffippie currently working as Administration Officer in FFIPP International. My engagement with FFIPP started with FFIPP Bordeaux where I discovered the organization and FFIPP’s work. With some friends from the organization we thought this project was too good to let it behind so we started the Spanish chapter in the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Within the team of students of the Spanish chapter just one of us had done the summer program and for most of them it was the first time working with FFIPP, but my experience in FFIPP Bordeaux and the time we dedicated with the new Spanish chapter organizing events and consolidating the chapter was very educational and we count with the support of the FFIPP network and the European board. We were also able to collaborate on several occasions with other organizations at the University that also deal with human rights advocacy. One of the highlights of my experience with FFIPP Spain was the lecture with the Chief Executive of UNRWA in Spain. I personally think it was one of the experience were I learned more about the situation of Palestinians and a lot of people from the university  attended the event so we really had the feeling of reaching out a larger community in the university than only ffippies. During this year I also had the chance to get more involved with the FFIPP network and that’s how I discovered some ffippies were trying to create FFIPP International so I decided to offer my help. Even though I’ve never done the summer program I never considered it as an impediment and I think I have been useful to the organization, especially in times of pandemic when all help is needed, and most important, I’m really enjoying my experience within FFIPP and with its ffippies!
